Thanks for dropping by!

My name is Phil and my fascination with radio started in the late 1970's, that's when I acquired my first radio, a Realistic TRC-55. A 23 Chanel Base Station CB. I looked into getting a Ham license however I was unable to learn the CW Code in my teens and moved on from radio. Now that I am older and code is no longer required I received my Technicians license in November 2020, I upgraded to General December 2023.

I mostly hang out on 10 meters when it is open, you can also find me on 20 and 40 meters. I do call out on the VHF calling frequency once in a while. So if you hear me give me a call.

Catch you on the air. Best, Phil

These are the CURRENT (NOW) North America focused band conditions.
CURRENT Day, night and grayline (day/night) propogation is depicted.
Conditions and this indicator WILL CHANGE throughout the day.
Always check the current conditions to find your possible range.

Here is the current grayline conditions map including MUF info.
Grayline operation compares to the jetstream's use for air travel.
The difference is that we are using the sun's effect on radio propogation.
Grayline with a good Maximum Usable Frequency (MUF) is like surfing!
